Secret Bridesmaids Business will open at 8pm nightly



Hello Rondo volunteers

Thanks for you time in the past, we do hope we see you in the future . . . ‘round the Rondo’ . . .

If you throughly read the last Rondo Newsletter, you’d have noticed some changes are planned for how we operate Front of House (FoH) during this next season play . . . and with possible ‘tweeking’ – how we’ll manage into the future.  I’ll repeat the information here in case you missed it:
We are asking all volunteers to allocate a
minimum of two evenings for different duties during any one play.

  Three options:      Box Office + Tea /Coffee at intermission (6.45 – 9.45)

                                   Usher + Hot Seat with auditorium tidy-up. (7.30 – 10.45)

                                   Usher only (arrive by 7.30 – leave 8pm)

                                   (trainee spot still available for anyone wanting to come and learn the above roles)

Carey Leahy (0438 547761) will oversee and train folks in the Box Office & Intermission Tea/Coffee each night.  With all on deck from 6.45 to ~ 9.45pm.

Mark Grimston (0431 724012) will arrive early to prepare the foyer and then oversee the Ushers who arrive by 7.30pm (a third spot is available to fill).

Mark will update all volunteers on the Evacuation procedures as needed.

Reminder – that Hot Seaters must tidy the auditorium seating areas at the end of the play.

If you are unable to volunteer on two evenings, we invite you to buy a ticket to see the show – your club needs paying patrons t00!

Volunteering at the Rondo during performance nights is a great way to get involved with the group. 

All CLT financial members are able to sign up for front Of House Duties.

A sign up sheet is at the bottom of this page.


The Box Office/Tea and Coffee service is for volunteers who are familiar with box office procedures, trainees who have had some experience in the box office can volunteer for this spot.  Please sign up to be a ‘trainee’ if you are keen to learn.


Hot Seat/Usher spots are restricted to people familiar with evacuation procedures and who are current financial members of Cairns Little Theatre.

New volunteers are encouraged to sign up in the trainee spot on the roster to learn procedures required of Front Of House volunteers. If you would like to continue volunteering you will be required to become a member of Cairns Little Theatre. To do this please contact our membership officer: membership@therondo.com.au or enquire at the bar during any performance.

On arrival, check in with front of house manager, during intermission, one hot seater must remain in the auditorium at all times to assist any patrons. At show end the theatre is checked and any rubbish and lost property is removed and DL flyers to be placed on seats ready for the following performance.

Alcohol cannot be consumed by any volunteer whilst on duty at The Rondo.

Our Front Of House Managers for Secret Bridesmaids Business are Mark Grimston and Carey Leahy.  They can assist you on the night with all aspects of volunteering for Front Of House Duties, answering your questions and provide training.
