The Rondo Theatre is one very busy place. The next production, “Life X 3” has the same scene being played in three different ways. Playwright Yasmina Reza puts four people into a normal situation of two couples getting together for dinner, but within three possible scenarios. It is a comedy, but extremely thought-provoking, definitely a ‘must see’. Directed by Lynn Cropp and with a mix of known and unknown actors, it is quite different.

[br] The recent One Act Play Festival was a winner, with two sessions of short plays and full house at each. Rondo offered three plays “Children of the Levant”, a drama showing life in a war zone, which reached out and touched the audience; “A Dog’s Life”, a greatly appreciated comedy about four dogs in a kennel, the fun lasted till the very end, leaving the audience in tears. Last was “Countdown”, a piece revived from many years ago, with the original actors Narelle Shorey and Mike Carrette.

[br] Kevin West is still calling for actors for “Speaking in Tongues”, best remembered as the movie “Lantana”. Kevin was happily overwhelmed with women but is still seeking three men aged 25-40 and one 40-60. Call Kevin on 40536995 for an audition for this wonderful play running July 4th to 12th.
